What is the proper way to remove them? They look like you twist them apart with a needle nose plier. I would post a pic but my camera broke.

There is a tool that will remove them. Mine is on order. Here it is: http://www.hazet.de/eng/index.htm go down to tool 798-2, and there is a video blurb. Try Zelenda Tools, they should be able to order for you: 27-12 37th Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101 Telephone (718) 896-2288; Toll Free 888-892-8348; Fax (718) 896-4378 E-mail zelenda@aol.com If you are "stuck" try my half-baked method below: http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.php?tid=6402&pos... (NOT for the G, it's for the "S") Hope this helps. Edited by G-AMG 5/13/2007 2:00 PM

Posts: 22 | Re: Fuel Filter Clamps The proper way to remove these clips is by using the proper tool. The thread above gives you that info. I believe. You can however, do without the tool, just makes life a little difficult. By using a set of side cutters, compress either side of the clip ends and whilst compressed, twist the two end part off the lock. It may take a few try's but this should unhook the lock off the clip. These clips are re useable, to lock back on, using the side cutters compress the clip at the end pressing the clip until the two ended part locks back onto the clip. If this does not work, replace using conventional fuel clips.

But had to use hardware store stainless steel clamps instead of the the original clamps. Not a bad job at all. Thanks for the direction! Interesting - Same filter used by Chrysler -- wonder if it is cheaper from them (see part number in pic).
