Have him enter his location and specifics first. It appears with his broken english he may be from another country. The diesel shown in the photo is definately a 123 chassis turbo diesel. As a point of reference all the 1983 US 300td, SD,and D were turbo diesels. 617A is a generic name for the turbo diesel. The G never came with a 617A turbo diesel. Hope this helps. Mark

BenzDieselTuner Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: 617.952 in a G VIN#....? so, he bought the car that 617.952 was in........he is waiting for it to be delivered from 500km away........... the papers for the car dont list the car having the 617.952 installed, it was originally 300D, so he questions the conversions legality..... but he wants to know if he can somehow bolt up the 617 to the drivetrain in his G with M103 motor.........

I know it requires bell housing (or trans if integral) change on a 230GE and G320, but I don't know about those motor numbers. If he's talking about pulling the motor AND trans from the car, then it'll fit into any of the above but might require some routing of wiring to get power to the starter, will need G style output flange on the trans, and G style engine mount arms as required by the vehicle. Also need to eliminate fuel pump, filter, and accumulator if the truck is a "GE" model. -Dave G.
