brakes part numbers and $$ question

so i went to the dealer and got a price quote on 4 brake disk(rotors), 4 pads, and the sensors, front and rear...

the part numbers he listed are as fallows and the total price was $578.85 which seem way to cheap. then i walked to service center ( across the dealer ship) and they said labor was $456.80 but that price of $578 was way to cheap. She said front disk rotors are $677.03

So what do you think?

quanity 1) 004-420-14-20 Brake S Spord $106.25
2) 463-421-00-12 Brake D $270.30 (135.15 each)
4) 202-540-07-17 Sender H-5D $ 20.40 ($5.10 each)
1) 003-420-24-20 Set of $ 66.30
2) 902-423-05-12 Brake D $115.60 (57.80 each)

RE: brakes part numbers and $$ question

I have not done a brake job on my G yet, but I bought new pads, new sensors, and new rotors on the internet for our E320, and the total price was around $425 for all four corners. Easy work, too.

RE: brakes part numbers and $$ question

Last year I got brake rotors for my 460 from Sean:

A 460 421 0012 Front Rotor $170.38 each

I had bought the pads from a guy on German Ebay (at the time as Eurotruck was not in the fulltime G business just yet). For about $80 plus shipping.

Of course the 460 has drums on the rear so it would not apply to you.

So in other words they do not appear to be that expensive.

If the parts guy is going to sell you all the parts for that amount TAKE THEM. You can have them installed elsewhere or do it yourself. They are not difficult to do.

Re: brakes part numbers and $$ question

Had the fronts done a couple months ago. Two discs, four pads and some simple hardware was umm, around $300 roughly. Non-MB part, but decent quality (Brembo) anyway.

Didn't pay labor, so don't know about that.

I was quote a similar price - around $1k installed including the parts you listed. Don't remember the breakdown, but it may have been a tad more in parts and a bit cheaper in labor (maybe $650/$350)...

Hi Kerr,

I just saw two front disk rotors on the German Ebay for EUR169.00 ~ $220.00

Go fly to the Fatherland and take an empty suitcase with you, return with all your wanted G-goddies......

We would love to have the opportunity to quote the brake parts for you.

I know that we can save you money on the front rotors, as we have the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) front rotors in stock for $89.25 ea.

Let us know if we can help. mailto:parts@eurotruck-importers.com

Best,

RE: brakes part numbers and $$ question

Sean,
Having been to your place in Georgia, I was wondering if the guys next door to you are still in business.
What I am getting at is.....Could a Gwagen owner buy the parts from you and have the mechanics next door install them in short order?
