RE: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

Alright, still haven't found the part number of my pump housing with the "y" outlet but here's one that might work. The pic shows part number 6172010501. Only one outlet but I suppose one could "tee" off of this for the cabin heat.
I'll keep looking for my number.

RE: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

The water pump housing with the two outlets or the "y" is from a W114, W115, W130....I believe.
Probably 200 68-73, or 220D 68-73, or 240D 74-76, or 300D 75-76.
Part number 115 201 00 01

RE: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

Steve, thanks for the part #. Today I pick up these used for $10. A good deal. The small cap in the pic will index the hose so it will pass over top of the compressor, instead of the belt path. However, I'm not sure yet which housing style I'll use, so I'm going to watch for that pump housing, to use with my other t-stat housing.

Bernie,
If you take a crack at this, I'd suggest you beef up the old york bracket in the areas circled. The arrows are crack lines, not really arrows. Ignore the pointing....I didn't have a line tool with my photo edit app.

Cheers yo.

RE: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

The beautiful engine in the pic is a gas engine from a W110 001 (190) from 1974 . This engine uses same T.housing and Pump housing of W 110 104 ( 200D) and the same of W 110 002 (6 cylinders) of epc figure i posted cause it has T housing ans P housing on same EPC pic.
T.Housing 115 200 01 15
P housing 115 201 00 01

By the pic photo and EPC i think its the P housing you are looking for.( i hope!)

Fernando,

The picture you show is a M115 identical to the one in W123 and W115 200 and 230.

I must admit I am in love with this little fireball, a truely wonderful piece of mechanical artistry!

Thanks Chris (wikipedia sometimes....) ! Now I have checked EPC for W 115 230 and both pn are the same. 115 200 01 15 and 115 201 00 01.

Nice sedan ! Congrats.

RE: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

Update:
Using this thermostat housing on a 617A will require a slight modification to the T.housing or the addition of a custom spacer.

Just took my thermostat housing off to replace the hose between it and the water pump and found that the previous owner had added a weld bead adjacent to the mounting surface to make it bigger in order to cover the port hole on the cylinder head. See pics.

Re: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

I am in the process of doing this York bracket/Sanden mod to my OM617A project and was wondering how does the bracket mount under the intake manifold? Does it use the existing intake/exhaust manifold stud or is it replaced with a bolt or longer stud?

I have not done mine yet, but I bought all the parts a while ago. Steve at Eurotruck told me that the studs are replaced with longer ones. If I remember there's 2; he sold them to me. I also remember he said that clearance to the turbo is really close.

That's what I thought. I'll give Eurotruck a call. Thanks for the info!

RE: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

I am finally getting close to getting this done. The bracket has been modified and installed. Just need to plumb the radiator hoses and figure out an air filter setup.

EDIT: Photo removed to be resized.

Re: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

Nice job.

Did you know also got all the parts for the water pump outlet and thermostat housing?
I'm thinking of installing a York on my 617a for some onboard air. Will start sourcing the parts in this thread.

Re: 460 Diesel Conversion & AC Install

I left the stock water pump outlet on there, but used the thermostat housing from a 240D and the thermostat cover from somewhere else (can't remember what model it was).
