| Mercedes Benz Vance Alabama Factory
Since the Mercedes Benz Vance Alabama plant manufactures three vehicles, I thought it appropriate to post a link in General Discussions. The link provides factory information, Tour Info (presently closed until 2007) and slide show pictures of the ML, R and GL classes.

This plant has just had a multi-million dollar expansion to allow the increased production of the R and GL. The nearest large city is Birmingham if you plan to take delivery of your truck there. A small but interesting museum is located at the plant site as well. |

They are closed to the public, but I received an invitation to tour the facility with my family because I am a local Benz owner(I assume, at least) I didn't go.
We do need a real museum here, one with some *real* Mercedes cars in it. |

This is why I do not buy Benz cars newer than 1992. The last thing I want is Cousin Earl and his sniff hound Geech assembling my order.
No better with BMW sadly. |
