Possible new C-class Coupe?

Allegedly this is a design study into the 2008 c-class coupe. What do you all think?

Re: Possible new C-class Coupe?

They need to make it a coupe not a hatchback. I still prefer BMW 3 coupe over the C class coupe but I prefer the C class sedan over the BMW sedan. I say dont make a C coupe it will take away the market from the CLK which happens to be build on the C chassis.

It can, and never will be able to compete with the 3-Series Coupe if they keep going that direction.

RE: Possible new C-class Coupe?

Ugh..UGLY

 What are they thinking????

Where did they go wrong with the "cheaper" Mercs...your paying 30,000 for that? COMON! That thing looks like hell. It doesn't know if its a CLK or a SAAB 93. Just take the nice looking C class sedan, and make it have two doors..oh wait thats called the CLK.

Bring the USA a CLK with a 4 cylinder turbocharged/supercharged engine that looks nice, with a manual, and people will gobble it up! The fact that the base model CLK can only be had with a 3.5 liter twin cam V6 is nuts! There is no entry level coupe other than this abomination.

I thought the CLK was based on the E.

RE: Possible new C-class Coupe?

I thought the same thing, AsianML.

But from what I understand it's based on the C chassis, just raked a little bit to fit those big engines under the bonnet.

AsianML - 6/15/2006 6:46 PM I thought the CLK was based on the E.
As a (former) W208 owner, I always got a right good chuckle out of that sentiment. In reality, it was the concept that resulted in the CLK that actually led the way to some of the exterior design cues of the then new 1993 E -- including the four-eye headlamp setup. But, that aside, yes the CLK (and SLK) have always been based on the C-class chassis.
