AndrewAZ Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | New CLS550 posted on MBUSA They have the new CLS550 posted on MBUSA. The list it having the new 5.5 liter 32 valve v8 making 382hp and 391lb tq. I personally think this car is capable of a sub 5 second 0-60. The old w210 E55 AMG had 350hp and less torque and still managed a 0-60 in 4.8-5.0 seconds.

But the old E class AMG had a 5 speed transmission and less hp and torque. I still say the new hotness CLS550 will do sub 5 second 0-60. Its kind of like the new BMW 550i its almost as fast as the M3. BMW lists the 550 0-60 in 5.5 seconds is had a gear less than the CLS and less HP than the CLS, the 550i has been tested with sub 5 second 0-60 and mid 13 second 1/4 mile.

Curb weight of 3,768lb 2006 C219 CLS 5500 Net power 382 hp @ 6,000 rpm Net torque 391 lb-ft @ 2,800 - 4,800 rpm 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds Rear axle ratio of 2.65:1 Curb weight of 4,020 lb So yes the CLS 0-60 time sould be faster. Way to post some good numbers... Looks like the new 550 engine makes peak torque sooner than the old NA 55AMG engines. C32 and C55 and M3's better watch out fro the new CLS550 and the BMW 550I the numbers are really close and right now it seems to me like it would be a drivers race.
